Child Parent Observation (CPO)

Parent Education through Parent-Child Participation

Raising children is both a challenging and rewarding job.  Through discussion and participatory child/parent activities, parents will gain experience and insight in search of unlocking the keys of good parenting.  Children from 3 months to school age are welcome but must be accompanied by a parent or legal guardian.  On a limited basis, parents who attend other classes on campus will have a reduced child supervision responsibility (2½ to 5 yrs only).  Child immunization record and parent TB clearance due the first day of class.  Textbook required.

The mission of the Child-Parent Observation Class is to nurture mothers, fathers, and families in the important task of raising respectful, responsible and resourceful children.

We provide an environment that fosters healthy self-esteem for parents and children by offering fun and meaningful activities that parents and children can do together. We study the class book, discuss issues, and observe children. Our focus is on developing self-awareness, fostering compassion, understanding, and empathy, practicing good communication skills, and providing role models.

Children from the age of 3 months to 5 years participate in age-appropriate educational lessons, and parents learn tools and skills to lead, encourage, and inspire their children. Parents make friends and support each other. Children are given academic and social skills to be prepared for kindergarten.
