    Adult Ed Message from Principal

To our SSF Adult Education Family

Hello SSFAE community.  I hope all of you are safe and healthy as we all work through the Covid-19 Pandemic.  As we get ready for the 2020-2021 school year I would like to go over some dates and procedures that will take place in the upcoming weeks.

Based on the information that we have today, our first day of school will be Monday, August 17th, 2020 and all instruction will be by distant learning.  We have changed our registration process to a fully online process.  The link will be posted on August 3rd and will be open until August 14th.  Once you register you will be given an appointment time to discuss your academic plan and set a time to take your CASAS test (All students in the ESL, High School Diploma, and HiSet program must take the CASAS).

As of today we will be operating in a distant learning model for the start of the school year.  This means that all programs will be done using either Zoom or Google classroom, and Edgenuity. You will receive more information about specifics in the upcoming weeks.

    Changes:

As we get in gear for the 2020/2021 School year I would like to give some program changes and updates.  As I write this message, I do so knowing that information changes every day and I ask that you are patient and flexible as we work through this pandemic.

    Adult Secondary Education

High School Diploma and HiSet will be done exclusively through Edgenuity.  We will no longer be using textbooks through our learning center.  All students will be assigned courses through the Edgenuity platform. The teacher for this class will also teach the ABE-English class virtually.

Students will be required to log in to Edgenuity during our new classroom hours:

    job fair
SSF Adult Education hosted our annual Job Fair last May 10, 2017. The successful event included 21 different organizations and was attended by over 100 students including our very own ESL and High School Diploma students, Baden High School students, Jefferson Adult School students, and community members. Many of those who attended were not only able to network with a variety of different companies but were offered the opportunity to interview, or even obtain employment! This event would not have been possible without the participation of all the organizations and their representatives which included: Comcast, Molly Maid, Synergy Homecare, New South Parking, Swissport, Embassy Suites, McDonald's, FedEx, Target, ChildCare Careers, Select Staffing, Big 5 Sporting Goods, CDS, Sky Chefs, Skyline College, Spark Point, Full Steam Staffing, IHSS Care Givers, Pick-Up Stix, USPS, and South West Greens.
